EATONTOWN, N.J. February 27, 2003 Initia Inc., a subsidiary of York Telecom Corporation, has indefinitely suspended the end-of-life deadline for the AccessSwitch product line. The AccessSwitch family of Wide Area Network (WAN), ISDN switches is primarily used for global video communications.

The product line had been scheduled for end-of-life phase out by November 29, 2003. However, repeated requests by end-users and resellers, as well as responses garnered from market surveys, encouraged the visual communication network product manufacturer to repeal the termination of the line.

"The interest repeatedly expressed by our partners and customers has given us the confidence that, there is indeed a sustained market demand for our products," said Jerry Dunn, General Manager at Initia. "We have reached this decision in partnership with our component and product manufacturers and will continue to explore ways to further enhance the existing product in order to best service our customers."

"Cost conscious organizations today continue to leverage the investment they've made in their Video Network equipment by deploying our AccessSwitch. This, together with the security that ISDN video conferencing offers, an organization can extend the investment they've made into the next couple of years," added Dunn.

Initia's AccessSwitch products support more than 40 signaling protocols and are able to consolidate a variety of voice, data and video traffic and dynamically allocate consolidated traffic to a broad range of private and public carriers in a cost-effective manner. The AccessSwitch 60 and AccessSwitch 200 products offer varying numbers of ports and provide high-capacity, high performance, integrated network access for large networks. The Intelligent Switch and the AccessSwitch 20 is designed for smaller sites and remote locations.
